Analogical explanations

This article provides a brief introduction to the notion of analogical explanations. These are not just simple explanations based on similarity, but also different types of explanations that rely on analogical proportions (i.e., statements of the form “a is b as c is d”). Analogical explanations exploit data in terms of examples and counterexamples. They can eventually be stated in terms of analogical proportions.
